new beginnings

Summer is ending and autumn is approaching. The change to warm colors and cool weather excites me. There are few situations where I don’t enjoy change. I’m constantly seeking something new to learn, new to see, or something new to experience. And this is exactly where Echolite is as an organization.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen some vast changes in our organization. We are finally officially launching ourselves full-time into the media world. Up until now we’ve only been a trip by trip ministry, but with the time spent out of the country since the turn of the new year we knew there was no other option but to pursue this full-time. After spending over two months in East Africa this summer we arrived back in the states anxious about the future. There have been so many unknowns over the past few weeks that it’s almost comical. Where do we work? Where are we going? What projects do we finish first? When are we eating food? Where are we sleeping tonight? With all these questions, we are trusting that the lessons being learned in patience and trust are building a foundation for our future. We find ourselves daily wishing for the perfect housing solution or the ideal media project to just fall in our laps. But we’ve come to learn that it just doesn’t happen that way and if we try to come up with our own solutions without trusting the one who is sovereignly making this thing work, then we will surely fail. We understand the concept of waiting on the Lord but the daily practice isn’t so simple. So I guess all we can do is look at the hour ahead and give up trying to make ourselves comfortable.
